Rhinestone Jewelry

Every women has worn rhinestone jewelry at one time or another. Was it prom? A wedding? A wild night on the town? The grocery store? As times change, the places women (and men!) wear their rhinestones varies wildly. I myself have worn rhinestone jewelry, paired with leather cuff bracelets, to punk rock shows. No matter where your wear it, rhinestone jewelry always draws looks and attention.

Rhinestone jewelry is typically worn for special occassions such as weddings, prom night, dances and beauty pageants. But, again, as times change, you start to see rhinestone jewelry worn at every day events. The reason is simple. Rhinestone jewelry is beautiful and affordable. The highest quality rhinestones can easily rival the sparkle of a nice diamond and can be aquired at a 20th of the cost!

Rhinestone jewelry can vary greatly in sparkle and quality. The highest quality rhinestone is the Swarovski rhinestone. Very close to the Swarovski rhinestone is the generic Austrian crystal rhinestones. It would take a *serious* rhinestone enthusiast to determine the difference between a Swarovski cut Austrian crystal rhinestone and the generic cut crystal rhinestone. Both are absolutely beautiful and display all the sparkle and shine you could hope for. Acrylic rhinestones are the bottom of the barrel and the worst quality rhinestones available. Acrylic rhinestones are actually just molded plastic. They are not "cut" like crystal rhinestones (and all precious gems). Since acrylic rhinestones are not physically cut and faceted like a precious gem, they do not reflect light, or produce the beautiful sparkle, like a crystal rhinestone.
