Storing
Rhinestone Jewelry
In
order to keep your rhinestone jewelry for years to come, it
is important to store it properly. Dust is abrasive to rhinestone
jewelry and extreme temperature and moisture will cause deterioration
of your jewelry. Rhinestone jewelry is best keep in a soft,
sealed pouch and stored in a cool, dry and dust free enviroment.
Another trick of the trade is to store your rhinestone jewelry
with a simple stick of chalk, since chalk will absorb moisture.
Cleaning
Rhinestone Jewelry
Eventually,
rhinestone jewelry will get dirty and dirt and dust can cause
tarnish. It is important to know how to properly clean your
rhinestone jewelry in order to preserve its beauty.
Rhinestone
jewelry can be cleaned with a glass cleaning agent, or mild
soapy water. But, do remember that rhinestone jewelry (or
any jewelry with foil backing), should not be sprayed directly,
or submerged in water. Spray the cleaning agent onto a clean
soft cloth, using just enough to remove the dust. Remember,
too much moisture can cause damage to rhinestone jewelry!
For the hard to reach places, use a small amount of cleaning
agent with a soft brush or q-tip. For small touch ups, a jewelry
polishing cloth will work wonders for your rhinestone gems.
After
you have cleaned your rhinestone jewelry, be sure that the
jewelry is completely dry before wearing the jewelry or putting
back in storage.
