The
hottest new accessory is the rhinestone studded cell phone!
Celebrities from Paris Hilton to P Diddy have all been spotted
with there very own custom designer cellular phones. So how
are you going to get one?! There are many ways to aquire a
hot rhinestone studded phone.
Custom
Designed Phones:

The
phones pictured above are all one of a kind creations by designer
Kathy Sidles of PiperV.
PiperV uses only the best Swarovski quality rhinestones in
their designs and each crystal is hand set and glued individually.
You can pick a design from their templates, you can send your
phone to Kathy and she will create a custom rhinestone cell
phone design just for you.
Do
It Yourself Rhinestone Phones:
Applying
rhinstones to your cell phone is fun and a great way to save
money. To do it yourself, you will need the following items:
- GemTac
Glue
- Rhinestone Applicator Sticks
- Rhinestones
You can get the GemTac glue and rhinestone
applicator sticks at your local craft store, but I would suggest
buying your rhinestones at RhinestoneGuy.com.
I have used his Austrian crystal rhinestones for my own cell
phone and they are absolutely beautiful. Or, you can also
score a great deal on good quality rhinestones on eBay.
You will get the best effect if you
use size 9ss or 12ss rhinestones. Also, be sure to use good
quality rhinestones such as Swarovski or Austrian crystal
rhinestones. If you are on a budget, you can get cheap acrylic
rhinestones, but they don't sparkle half as much as a good
quality rhinestone. You will need approximately 2 -3 gross
(there are 144 rhinestones in a gross) to cover the front
of your phone. This, of course, can vary depending on the
brand, model and size of your specific cell phone. It's always
better to buy too many rhinestones then too few.
Now that you have your supplies, lets
get down to business...
1. Clean your cell phone with an alcohol-dampened
lint-free cloth.
2. Take the rhinestone applicator stick and roll
between fingers to produce a some what sharp wax point.
3. Place your rhinestones into a small saucer. At
least 50% will land right side up and these are the stones
you will be working with.
4. Lightly touch the tip of the pointed wax applicator
stick to a rhinestone that is right-side up and the stone
will stick to the wax.
5. Place a small dab of GemTac glue on the back of
your rhinestone and stick the little guy to your cell phone.
6. Repeat until you have covered your cell phone
with rhinestones!
7. Let the rhinestones and glue set for 24 hours.
